Learning Pool Creates More Jobs at its Derry base

Learning Pool, the Derry based online learning provider is continuing to grow despite the economic downturn. The company, which already employs 35 people in Derry has announced a further 10 new appointments today. The roles, which will be based in Derry, are a response to the company’s continued growth in its core market in England, Wales and Scotland. The company celebrated its 4th birthday this month!

The new roles have been created after 4 years of sustained growth and are planned between now and the end of March. Learning Pool announced immediate vacancies for an Operations Manager, a Software Development Manager, Senior PHP programmers, a Systems administrator and a System Tester today and will make the remaining appointments immediately that these roles are filled.

Announcing the new jobs, Learning Pool director Paul McElvaney explained that the success of Learning Pool continues unabated. “While trading conditions are tough right now the market continues to be really excited about our products and the services we provide. Learning Pool is seen as the go to place for doing more with less these days and that’s driving good revenues again this year.”

So what is life at Learning Pool really like? Paul McElvaney explained “the team here work really hard and are unbelievably committed to our success. Working at Learning Pool probably isn’t for everyone but if you are looking for a fast paced, demanding role where you can make a real difference while having lots of fun, you should really give us a call. Our targets for the next 3 years are ambitious and given our previous success, there’s no reason why we can’t hit all of them”.

And who should apply? Learning Pool’s head of business development, Sam Barbee, has been with Learning Pool for 3 years and thinks that “we are always looking for bright and ambitious people who aren’t afraid of stepping outside of their comfort zones. Experience counts but not as much as talent and enthusiasm which are really the key ingredients for success here”.

The roles are advertised at www.learningpool.com/recruitment and applications (a 2 page CV and cover letter) should be sent to jobs@learningpool.com. Learning Pool provides online learning services to 9 out 10 councils in England, Scotland and Wales. The company has been trading since 2006 and was named as a Rising Star on the Deloitte Tech fast 50 last year.
